Sleeping Sonny

One of my favorite things about Sonny being in his big boy bed is the anticipation of how I will find him when I go in to check on him. We have struggled to keep him in his bed but once he is asleep and we go in to check on him we usually find him different than when we put him down. Sometimes he has on no pj's, sometimes he has on new pj's, sometimes he has on a spiderman costume, or just a batman mask. The latest is a hat from a pumpkin costume that he wore when he was less than 2 months old. Tonight it was the pumpkin hat...he's ridiculous.

Notice his left hand in the spiderman picture. For some reason he also likes to put socks on his hands????

Sprinkles of Love

Can you see love? Usually we think of love as a feeling but, today I actually saw sprinkles of love.
Let me give you some background. The weekend was going downhill fast and Carson was out of town. I'm sure you all can relate...he leaves and all the sudden the kids get sick. I'm not going into details but, it was not looking good.
Well, I put the kids down for a nap and decided to clean the kitchen. I was cleaning out of frustaration. As I begin to sweep around the table I see hundreds of sprinkles go rolling across the floor. Then, I realize that they are from Thursday morning when Carson helped Carly make cupcakes. For about 1/2 a second I was in the flesh..."could he not clean them up"? Then, the Lord showed me that they were actually "sprinkles of love". The reality is that Carson had been to the gym that morning. When he gets home from the gym he needs to hurry and get into work mode. Well, my sweet husband decided to help Carly make cupcakes (she had begging for like a week). All the while, guess who is in the bed catching some extra Z's ...? He could have rushed in from the gym and said, "Carly, I can't help you, I've got to get to work. Go wake your lazy mom up and let her help." Honestly, if I were him that is probably what I would have been thinking. But, not him, he never complained about it, or really said anything at all about it. I am so thankful to have him as a husband.
I am so thankful that God showed me, visually, actual "sprinkles of love"

Titans Past Present and Future

Well, I haven't blogged in a while. I have been very busy. Fall always seems super busy. Sonny had his b-day mid Sept. and Carly's followed 2 weeks later and it was BUSY. In the middle of these two birthdays I was invited to perform with other Titans Cheeleading Alumni at a game. I was very excited, but very anxious. We had about 4 practices leading up to game day. I was hesitant about doing it but once I got there I was so glad I did. It was so good to see the girls and not have to worry about comparing myself to everyone else. It was so good to feel a part of something. To see what we began on day 1 and how it all came together was awesome. Being around the girls was a blast and we were laughing the whole time. However, I forgot about the fact that I was actually going to have to get on the field in front of thousands of people and perform. I am a perfectionist when it comes to perfoming and I was walking onto the field for the performance and practicing in my head. I was so afraid that since it had been so long I would get out there and just go blank. Fortunately, that did not happen and it all went great. It was kinda weird feeling old and looking at the new girls and knowing we aren't the cool ones, they are. Seeing them look all glamorous and everything, just stirs emotions. I really do miss it. I miss the girls, I miss dancing, I miss game day the most. I LOVED every minute of it...game day that is. Then, I remember not being able to eat so much as a piece of gum that had sugar and I go whew, I don't think I could do that again.

All in all, it was soooo fun and I am so thankful that I got the opportunity to be out on the field performing again.

Goodbye 2's!!!

Well, in about 2 hours it will be official, we will be done with the 2's. I am soooo sad! I just can't stand the thought that I may never do 2's again. It may sound crazy, but it's true. My baby is gonna be three!! As tonight went on I'd say to Sonny, "goodbye 2, we'll never see you again." NEVER?? Oh, that is so sad! I'm never going to have a 2 year old again, I can't stand the thought. I don't know if it's that I'll never have a 2 year old again, or that my Sonny boy will never be 2 again. I mean, I'm struggling with him growing up. I hate it. I'm going to ruin him. I may need to have another child just to keep him from being a sissy boy. They really do grow too fast.

My baby's all grown up!!!

Well, it's official, my Sonny boy is grown. He finally pooped in the toilet...dropped the kid off at the pool, let the brown (green in this case) snake out of the hole, went #2, duce in the porcelin throne...you get the point.

It's not just that now he's pooping on the potty instead of in his underwear, or in some cases, on the floor in Carly's closet. He's out of his crib. (I'm holding back the tears). Last night was his first night in his big boy bed. I am so sad! There is just NOTHING sweeter than walking into a room with a precious child smiling from ear to ear with hair a mess, eyes puffy, waiting eagerly for mommy to scoop them up out of their bed. The days before he got into his big boy bed, when I'd walk in the room he would dive face first onto the other end of the bed. As he flew through the air he'd squeel with delight because he was so HAPPY to see mommy (I know that it was really because he was now going to be "rescued"). Anywho, I loved to listen to him on the monitor and he'd say,"momma, COME GET ME". I also would rock him to sleep and sing his favorite song...Skidamarinkedinke"juice" Yes, it's a weird version that he finds HILARIOUS?? Anywho, but that seems to have ended to. I am so sad. We did do a farwell to the crib and I took pictures and video of him saying "goodbye".

Also, another sign that my baby is grown...he didn't cry on Tuesday when I dropped him off for his 1st day at a NEW school. If you know my Sonnyboy, that's HUGE! And, there were NO tears all day! However, he did poop himself and tee tee all over himself, but it was a BIG day.

It's so funny, when I had Carly, I just wanted to get to the next thing and with Sonny, I hate it when we get to the "next thing" because it's one less thing that he needs his momma for... he's my love! I'm seriously crying, this is pathetic.

Freaky Friday!

Well, it wasn't really "freaky", just eventful. First of all, Carly had her first day of dance, which she absotootly loved. It was very fun to watch. The only problem was that when I wasn't watching she'd come to the window and start banging on it and mouthing "WATCH ME!!". She LOVES attention.
Anywho, we have been potty training Sonny, and he has done great. He will totally tee tee on the potty, but just poops in his pants. So, I was getting ready to go to church on Friday night to hear Priscilla, and Sonny came down the stairs and had changed his underwear. I said, "did you tee tee or poo poo in your underwear"? He said, "no, I just wanted to put these on". I said , "where did you put the underwear you took off? He said, "back in my drawer". OK, I'm in a hurry, OBVIOUSLY, he just wanted to change underwear...NOT. So, I'm leaving, I see Sonny and now he's naked. I'm thinking OK, he just change underwear and now he's naked, but I need to get out of here so I'm not worrying about it. Well, the next thing I hear is Carson going, "woah, woah, woah, what's this?" It was Sonny's underwear (the 2nd pair he changed into) with what I like to call residoo-doo. So, I spread his little cheeks apart and there in his crack lie the remnants. So, OBVIOUSLY he pooped...in his 1st pair of underwear...which he said he put back in his drawer. I said, to daddy, have fun on that treasure hunt! I'm OUT!!!! Oh, the joys of potty training.
Next, I went to hear Priscilla at church, and she was AWESOME. But, I had to be there at 5:00 and didn't have a chance to eat. You'd think I was on a desert Island or something stuck without food for who knows how long because I started to have a panic attack thinking I'd be without food for almost 5 whole hrs. So, I didn't have any cash to buy the snacks they are selling so I saw that the bookstore was selling "gourmet" stuff and will take check card. So, I proceeded to buy chocolate covered peanuts, which were like 4.00. Anywho, so buy the end of the night, I'm not that hungry but just wanting some real food. So, the conference let out at 9:30. I decided I'd stop at taco bell to get something, real food, to eat. I got on my cell phone and forget to go to taco bell. I got to my road and remembered...taco bell. I turned around and drove to taco bell in H'ville on Indian Lake. Well, there was a LONG line and they are slow as Christmas. I decided to go in (it is now 10:00) they close the inside at 10:00. So, I decide that I'll go home and go to bed and forget about it. Well, I got home. I'm opening the garage door and I realize that I have to be at church early and I won't have any real food for breakfast, or lunch because we have not been to the grocery store and I will not eat again until dinner on Sat. night!! I decided to go to Sonic. I get to Sonic and I'm NOT kidding, there was not 1 parking spot. People were parked up on the curb. OK, I'm not eating at Sonic. Now, I was almost out of gas so I had to get gas. Then, I decided to go BACK to taco bell. It's line was longer than before. I went over to Steak and Shake, got in line, then decided I didn't want a burger. I left there and went to White Castle/Church's Chicken. Now, you know that any place that is a 2 in 1 can NOT be good. I got a mini chicken sandwich and a mini like krystal. I got home at 11:00, yes 1 1/2 hrs. later. At this point I just wanted to go to bed. I got out my food and let's just say it was terrible. Not to mention my stomach was now bubbling and all I really wanted was taco bell!! That's bad. Off the subject...my friend told me she saw a meat truck delivering meat to taco bell and on the package it said, "Grade F but edible." All I wanted was something "edible"!

Chattanooga

OK, so I just got back from Chattahoocie with the Fam. Well, it was me, Carly, Carson, Sonny, my niece Jasmine, and my mom. It was fun, but CRAZY. Let's just say we almost got kicked out of our hotel. I have been to several Spring Breaks, a Senior trip, etc, and at 32 with 2 children we get a call from the hotel Manager with a noise complaint! Anywho, we packed it all in and had a great time.
We went to Ruby Falls. it was my first time in a cave and the whole time I was all the sudden extremely concerned about an eathquake. It was pretty cool, I felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. Here we are walking behind the waterfall "Ruby" inside the cave.

Next, we headed downtown to eat and then back to the hotel, motel, Holiday Inn, say what (another rap song ref.) And did some indoor swimming. I wasn't planning on swimming but had to jump in at one point to rescue Sonny so, I was now swimming. Next was the noise complaint.

The next morning we went to Coolidge park and rode the indoor carousel and played in the fountains. The highlight was Sonny purposefully stepping in and squishing around dog poo. Here is Carly and Jas at the fountain.

After the park we went to Ride the Incline train. Oh my goodness, I almost pooped my pants...seriously! We basically went a mile straight up a mountain. I was scared. Once up the hill I didn't think I could go back down. However, I did make it down and thankfully without any racin' stripes in my underwear as a souveineer. These pics just don't do it justice.

So, all in all, it was fun, but it was different going with my mom. If you know me, then you know that I love my mom dearly, we are very close but, let's just say she's...different? OK, we went to Chattanoogie, obviously. I don't know what she packed in her grocery sack (I'm serious, God love her) but, I know what she DID NOT pack...her jeans, her curling iron, her toothpaste, her deoderant, her make up remover, her moisturizer, her lotion, her underwear, or her bathing suit (and she DID get in the hot tub and pool)...I wish I had a picture of that to post.

Anywho, goodtimes and lots of fun, crazy memories.
